• 1919 - NGK INSULATORS basis. LTD. (predecessor of NGK SPARK PLUG CO. LTD. )
• 1936 - NGK SPARK PLUG CO basis. LTD.
• 1949 - development of "new ceramics" under the NTK trademark
• 1975 - opening of the first European branch in London
• 1979 - opening of the first office in Europe (Düsseldorf, Germany)
• 1980 - office and warehouse opening in of Ratingen (Germany)
• 1990 - opening of the European technical center NGK in of Ratingen (Germany)
• 1996 - an entry into the Russian market
• 2006 - opening of Representation of NGK Spark Plug Europe GmbH in Moscow

NGK Spark Plug Co company. Ltd was based in October, 1936 in Japan. The name of the NGK (NIPPON GAISHI KAISYA) company is translated as Japanese insulator factory. After restructuring in 1997 the company unites three groups:

1. car components of a spark plug, glow plug, sets of wires, lambda probes)
2. components of means of communication (components of electric semiconductors)
3. technical ceramics (ceramics for are sharp, thin ceramics)
